Alan Greenspan will not be lowering interest rates again, any time soon. The Fed's reluctance to lower interest rates specifically to stimulate a ho-hum economy is based in historicall fact. It is going to take a whole lot worse economy to warrant a significant lowering of interest rates. So far, consumer spending on big ticket items has not increased measurably as a result of the recent interest rate cut. Take heed, and invest wisely! This is as good as it gets if you have planned to buy up a few technology stocks. Iris Posted Sunday, January 7, 2001. |
